A sunny day and roads are filled with cars as the traffic is the same as usual in Mumbai, a girl is sitting in the cab, continuously tapping her foot as she's in a hurry to reach her destination
"Bhaiyya can you please drive fast i'm getting late" Says the girl, glancing at her wristwatch
"There are lines of cars ahead of me, i can't fly from here. Please have patience" The driver replies to her and her anxiety only hikes
Although the traffic clears soon slowly but still it took her 15 minutes to reach her destination.
As soon as the car stops in front of the huge building of her college, she quickly gets out of the cab
She's dressed in blue jeans with a white kurta and a scarf around her neck matching with her dress and a sling bag hung on her shoulder.
She pays the driver and hurries inside, she gets into her class where a lecture is going on by a professor, She quietly take the seat beside a girl without disturbing other students
"Hey, did i miss something?" She asks whispering to her classmate sitting beside her
"Nope, not much, the class has just started" the girl replies
"Thank god" She takes a sigh of relief and focuses on the lecture
When the class ends, she moves out when a girl calls her from behind "Hey, Anaya!"
Anaya turns around and sees one of her classmates "Hi, Vanshika" She greets back
"Actually i missed the class, Can i borrow your notes please?" Vanshika says hasitantly
"Sure, why not" Anaya replies, politely and fishes her hand in her bag taking out the stake of pages and hand it over to her "Here"
"Thank you so much, i'll return it tomorrow" Vanshika says smiling
"It's alright you can take your time" Anaya smiles back "By the way, Tanisha also attended the class, why didn't you ask her for notes?" She questions, to which Vanshika rolls her eyes
"You already know, only you're that kindest person in this college who helps others without a thought. I first asked Tanisha but she started making excuses as if i'm asking for money not for notes" She explains making faces
"Oh, that's so bad, she's your friend at least she shouldn't have refused you" Anaya says frowning
"Nobody is friend here and you're too naive to understand that. Everyone is connected to each other just for their mean reasons" She says in huh tone
Anaya laughs softly at her statement "Well, you know everyone better" She replies touching her shoulder friendly as she adds "Catch you in the next class" with that she walks away
After attending the next few classes she comes to the cafeteria, she sits down on a chair with a juice can in her hand, moving her eyes on the table beside hers, where she sees a group of friends laughing and cheering enjoying their break.
On the other table she spots two girls chatting and giggling probably talking about their boyfriends. She brings the can to her lips taking small sips from it and suddenly she feels a twinge in her heart as she finds herself sitting alone, hundreds of people are around her but none of them is her friend.
People only come to her when they need something, she was one of the toppers of her school and she didn't fail to lose that title in the college, that's why everyone wants to be around her only when it comes to work otherwise she finds herself alone even in a crowd-
Her phone starts ringing breaking the chain of her thoughts, She takes out her phone from her bag and sees her stepmother's name flashing on the screen, she frowns looking at it as she never calls her if its not something important or any emergency so she immediately receives the call
"Hello, Maa" She says as soon as she presses the phone against her ear
"Anaya, whatever you are doing just leave that and come home!" Damini, her stepmother demands as usual
"But Maa, i've two classes left to attend" She reasons
"It's urgent if you don't want your father to get mad at you, so come home right now, don't make us wait!" She snaps before hanging up the phone and Anaya only stares at the blank screen
Sighing deeply, she puts her books in her bag and makes her way out of the college
What she could have done? She has no choice but to compel her devil mother's threat
WHEN SHE REACHES HOME, she spots an unfamiliar black car parked outside her house, she gets confused guessing that maybe she has guests at her house and thats why her mother called her cause she's the one who handle most of the house chores
Keeping her thoughts aside, she moves forward to the main door, a maid greets her who opens the door for her
"Your father asked you to come to the living room right away" the maid announces to her as soon as Anaya steps inside her house
"Why? is there any guest at home?" She interrogates
"Yes maybe he wants you to meet them" the maid informs her which she finds strange as her father never asks her to meet any guest before, he has always been cold towards her and she doesn't know the reason as well, for his behavior cause once he used to be a caring and loving father but everything changed after when he remarried
She takes a deep breath before heading towards the living room and as she reaches there, she sees an unfamiliar couple sitting on the sofa, they are in simple clothes but looked classy, they are middle of their age like her parents.
She feels uncomfortable as now she becomes the center of attention
"Ah look she's here" Damini comes forward and smiles sweetly holding her from shoulder like a loving mother
Anaya gives her a confused look at her sudden change of behaviour as Damini has never even talked to her politely whereas now she's giving her smile but her next words cleared all her doubts
"Behave ok?" Damini whispers pulling her towards her and sits her on the sofa opposite to a couple, they smiles at her as they exchange greetings
"You look even more beautiful in simple" The lady sitting opposite to her compliments her
Anaya keeps her head down due to nervousness as she doesn't like being surrounded by people especially strangers
But what the lady says next makes her snap her head up in shock
"We don't need to think, Sharma ji. We've chosen your daughter for our son" She says smiling, looking at her parents
That man nods who is sitting beside her, who is her husband and Anaya's mouth flung opens
"I saw her at my niece's wedding and i was so mesmerized by her beauty that we decided to make her our daughter-in-law" the lady elaborates and Anaya swallows hard not able to digest her words
Anaya's father Abhinav sharma smiles at them
"You go back to your room, Anaya" He says looking back at her
She too wants to get out of here, as it was all getting awkward for her
She nods getting up and immediately leaves the room
A fear unlocks in her heart, thinking about the people she just met

In Singapore
The sunrays peeking through the curtains falling right on the man's face laying on the bed, half naked, on his stomach.
He groans turning his face to the other side avoiding the sunrays which is disturbing his sleep just then he hears his phone ringing and randomly moves his hand on the side table groping for his phone and when he finds it, he put the phone on ear without looking at the screen
"Hm?" He hums in his sleepy tone
"Good morning, Reyansh sir" A male voice sounds from the other side which makes Reyansh to turn on his back and glance at his phone finding his Personal assistant's name
"I hope i'm not disturbing you" His PA says hasitantly
"You did, now speak" Reyansh responds curtly, closing his eyes back
"Actually i've called to inform you that your meeting is within an hour" He informs
"What?" Reyansh snaps his eyes open "It was supposed to be in the evening?"
"Yes sir but they changed the timing. I called you last night to inform you but you didn't receive my call" He explains
Reyansh rubs his forehead sitting
"Fine, i'll be there soon" He says and disconnects the call
He yawns, ruffling his hair and gets up from the bed. His well built body highlights more when he comes in contact with direct sunlight as he's just in shorts
Staring down at the city view, he stretches his arms and moves his shoulders up and down with that every muscle of his body visibles
When he is about to make his way to the bathroom, his phone begins to ring again
He pads to the table and as he takes the phone, a smile stretches on his lips seeing the number saved with name "Kavya"
"I was just thinking about you" He says receiving the call
"Liar" the girl on the other side replies
"No baby have i ever lied to u?" He responds innocently
"Ok believe you" Kavya says giggling "So, when are you coming back" She asks
"I have tomorrow's flight" He answers
"Come soon, i miss you" Kavya says whining
Reyansh chuckle "I miss you too baby. I'll call you back in the evening, i have a meeting within an hour so i have to go now" He says glancing at the wall clock
"Oh, ok, no problem, honey. Talk to you later" Kavya says and they both end the call

Reyansh steps out of the car, dressed in a fitted navy blue suit, he removes his shades as he glances up at the skyscraper in front of him
"Good morning, sir" His PA approaches him
"Have they arrived?" He asks, looking aside at the man, who seems in his late thirties, with short black hair
"Yes, they're waiting for you" His PA replies as they both make their way inside through a huge glass gate
There are four men in the meeting place, dressed in suits, who are nearly his father's age
"Good morning, Mr Oberoi and my apologise for rescheduling the meeting" One of the men says moving forward
"Its alright, as long as the deal is in my favour, i have no problem" Reyansh replies with a slight smile on his face, posturing professionally
"I hope it goes in all of our favour" Another man says slightly playfully and they all chuckle
"By the way, your father told us that he's sending you on his behalf, i hope everything is alright with him?" That man speaks again
"Yes, he can't travel for now because of some health issues but he'll be back on work as soon as he gets better" Reyansh says
"Oh, hope he gets well soon" He says "you have a seat please, let's start the meeting" He adds
"Sure" Reyansh gets back in his professional tone and unbuttoning his suit jacket, he sits down on the chair and the meeting begins
